The Stronghold, laid out on two levels with an irregular plan that follows the ruggedness of the rocky terrain, is entirely built with \"rosso ammonitico\" limestone ashlars. It boasts an external fencing that encloses, to the North, the casemate fortified gun emplacement, protected by a layer of rammed earth, while a box-shaped redoubt can be found to the South. Within the complex, big tanks for the collection of rain water are present. The inner side consists of a lateral continuation of the casemate with two embrasures and a blockhaus, that is a concrete defensive barrack hosting an ammunition warehouse with embrasures. Moreover, the stronghold presents a side structure for the staircase that leads to the upper terrace, enclosed by an iron parapet. The complex is surrounded by a 5m-large ditch and the only access is via a drawbridge. The property is devoid of services and facilities. The small building located to the South of the complex, which was originally used first as a gatehouse and then as accommodation, is currently in ruins.
